Do you set goals as a reader? I enjoy reading goals and challenges, but I find it’s hard to stay motivated as the year goes on. Recently someone said that is understandable as we move from winter to spring and summer. This was a duh! moment for me. It makes so much sense, as the weather warms we are all more likely to enjoy outdoor activities!
Perhaps, I told myself, you aren’t just a big slacker! It’s the changing of the seasons. To that end, this year I’m going to make more of an effort to listen to audiobooks when I’m gardening. It’s only been a little over a month since my kale finally got killed by the frost, and I’m already dreaming about adding a couple more raised beds to our front yard garden this spring. Yes, you read that right, my dream of having a garden instead of grass is almost at completion! We have a very small front yard and we couldn’t get the grass growing, so instead of trying one more time to get grass to grow, we started converting it into a garden. I had great luck this year and was even able to grow green peppers well into October! Below is a picture of one of the beds from last May. I plan to add another bed for flowers and a bed for herbs.
